Ravels Märchenoper: Benefizkonzert zugunsten des Kinderrettungsdienstes Seit vielen Jahren veranstaltet der Pianist Zoltán Kocsis an seinem Geburtstag ein Benefizkonzert zugunsten des Internationalen Kinderrettungsdienstes. 1999 wird er dieses Konzert erstmals als Dirigent der Ungarischen Nationalphilharmonie gestalten, zu deren Generalmusikdirektor er vor einiger Zeit berufen worden ist. Am 30. Mai 1999 erklingt in Budapest unter seiner Leitung eine konzertante Aufführung von Ravels Oper "L'Enfant et les Sortilèges". Die Wohltätigkeitsveranstaltung wird für das Fernsehen aufgezeichnet. Der Internationale Kinderrettungsdienst sorgte erstmals für weltweite Schlagzeilen, als er 1990, nach dem Zusammenbruch des Ceausescu-Regimes, auf die erschütternde Situation von Kindern in rumänischen Waisenhäusern aufmerksam machte. Ziel der gemeinnützigen Organisation ist es heute, die Not von kranken und hilfsbedürftigen Kindern durch eine Vielzahl von Projekten zu lindern. Schirmherren des Internationalen Kinderrettungsdienstes sind Árpád Göncz, Präsident der Ungarischen Republik, Roman Herzog, Präsident der Bundesrepublik Deutschland und Thomas Klestil, Präsident der Republik Österreich. Maurice Ravels "L'Enfant et les Sortilèges", eine der wenigen Opern, in der ein Kind die Hauptrolle spielt, entstand nach einem Libretto der Schriftstellerin Colette. Das Märchen- und Zauberspiel wurde 1925 unter der Leitung von Victor de Sabata an der Opéra Monte Carlo uraufgeführt. Die Aufführung unter Zoltán Kocsis in Budapest wird von namhaften Solisten, vom Ungarischen Nationalchor und vom Kinderchor des Ungarischen Rundfunks in französischer Originalsprache gesungen. Alle Mitwirkenden haben zugunsten des Internationalen Kinderrettungsdienstes auf ihr Honorar verzichtet. Auch die Einnahmen aus dem Verkauf der TV-Produktion an Fernsehsender fließen direkt an den Internationalen Kinderrettungsdienst.

The opera will be performed in the original French language. All participants of the performance offered their retainers for the ICSS. Revenues of the television production are also to support the work of ICSS.

L'opéra-fée de Ravel au bénéfice du Service International d'Assistance aux Enfants (SIAE) Depuis des années, le jour de son anniversaire, le pianiste Zoltán Kocsis donne un concert au bénéfice du SIAE. Cette année pour la première fois il participe au concert comme chef d'orchestre en dirigeant l'Orchestre Philharmonique National dont il est directeur musical depuis quelque temps. Sous sa direction, les musiciens interprètent la version concertante de l'opéra de Ravel titré "L'Enfant et les Sortilèges", le 30 mai 1999. La soirée bénévole sera enregistrée par la télévision. Le SIAE fut connu en 1990 quand - après l'effondrement du régime totalitaire de Ceaucescu - il a tiré l'attention du grand public sur les situations catastrophiques et la misère qui régnaient dans les orphelinats de Roumanie. L'objectif principal de l'association caritative d'utilité publique est de prêter assistance aux enfants dans le besoin. Le SIAE est placé sous le patronage du Árpád Göncz, Président de la République de Hongrie, du Roman Herzog, Président de la République fédérale d'Allemagne et de Thomas Klestil, Président de la République d'Autriche. L'oeuvre de Maurice Ravel est l'un de rares opéras ayant dans le premier rôle un enfant. L'auteur du libretto est Colette. La première a eu lieu en 1925 à l'opéra de Monte Carlo sous la direction du chef d'orchestre Victor de Sabata. L'opéra à Budapest est dirigé par Zoltán Kocsis; les interprètes sont de célèbres chanteurs, le Choeur National Hongrois et la Chorale Enfantine du Radio et de la Télévision Hongrois. L'oeuvre sera interprétée dans la langue originelle, le français. Tout les artists ont renoncé à leurs honoraires au profit du SIAE. Les recettes provenant de la vente de la réalisation télévisée financent aussi les activités de l'Association.
